Rubik’s Cube

I finally solved The Rubik’s Cube yesterday! It’s something I had wanted to do for a long time. It was one of those things that I put off doing because it felt almost impossible. But, like most things, once you start doing it, you learn it’s not that hard.

It took about 5 hours total of practicing. By the time I was finished, I could solve it in 4 minutes without any help from YouTube. It’s amazing that something that felt impossible was accomplished in 5 hours.

I think I’m addicted to that feeling. I have struggled with some addictions in my life and just plain bad habits. But the older, and (I would like to think) wiser I get, the more I crave that feeling.

What feeling? The feeling of being overwhelmed by something because you don’t understand it, and then learning and understanding it. I guess that could be summed up as just learning, and I guess that triggers the state of flow. It is said that while in the state of flow, you are in a state of true happiness. From experience, I believe that.

That’s why I am dedicated to being a lifelong learner. Plus, I don’t want my brain to go crazy when I get older!
