Digital Minimalist Vlogger

I’m vlogging now, and I guess I’m a digital minimalist, which makes this an interesting situation for me. I’m not a fan of having a smartphone; I use a dumbphone interchangeably with it.

However, a smartphone is a vlogging machine. So, I’m trying to find the best balance for this. I’m not constantly filming my life or anything like that. Right now, I’m just making one to three videos a day and posting them on YouTube.

YouTube is the only major social media platform I use. I’m conflicted because I don’t really support doom scrolling. My videos are shorts. I’m using shorts because I think they can reach people. However, that’s probably a problem, and maybe I should only post regular YouTube videos. If I get fewer views, I guess that’s okay.

I do other filming on an older handycam. That’s more artsy stuff that requires editing. The videos I’m making now are quick and really just fillers for what’s to come with my art projects.

Anyway, this is what’s on my mind right now. I’m struggling with the idea of becoming more dependent on a smartphone. I think they are one of the most toxic things that have ever been created.
